The Community Food Club is open to any Kent County household at or below 200% federal poverty.

Verification of Address:

To open an account, we ask the head of household to provide proof of address in Kent County. Anything with your name and address printed on it will work for us, a piece a mail, bill, ID, anything! We will get you signed up and shopping the same day if you can provide something with your address.

For all adults, you must provide a document with the correct name and current address. 

For minors, we accept birth certificate, MiChild card, Social Security card, school letter, medical insurance card, legal custody paperwork, etc.

Income Information:

We do not keep any documents, showing something to staff on your phone/electronically is great! 

Here are some examples of proof of income:

  • Disability/Social Security or Other Benefits Statement
  • Income Tax Return (Federal and Michigan Return)
  • Paycheck Stub 
  • Unemployment Statement
  • Bank account Statement

Yes! The Food Club is wheelchair accessible with accessible single stall bathrooms. There are no steps on site and doors are automatic.

Anyone can sign up to be a member, no referrals or appointments needed! Stop by anytime during our open hours and fill out a one-page application with our staff, Spanish and English speakers are always available.

Value of your Food Club membership

Food Club members report they are able to shop for about a week and a half worth of groceries and save about $150 per month by shopping at the Food Club!

 

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
