The Community Food Club is open by referral only. Any Kent County household at or below 200% federal poverty is eligible for membership.
Along with being able to shop at the Food Club, members also gain access to free nutrition and health education classes and special membership events.
The Food Club is wheelchair accessible. All members may list up to three people who can shop on their behalf.
A household can inquire about a referral form at the front desk of the Salvation Army at 1215 E. Fulton St. in Grand Rapids, Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Interested members must provide identification for each household member and documentation of current income.
A household pays a fee of $11, $13, or $15 for a 30-day membership (effective October 1, 2018). Each household will pay based on a sliding scale, which takes into account household size and income. The Food Club can currently only accept cash for payment. Member households can shop up to once per day until all points are used. Remaining unused points do not rollover into the next membership period.
